August 2019: Syndicate Update

Updated: Sep 2, 2019

Hi guys and welcome to August's edition of the Syndicate blog, Lets get into it!

Some awesome news to kick off the month that we now have a 4th dog for the syndicate, a lovely brindle bitch, Ballymac Vic x Drumcrow Blossom and shes our biggest purchase to date, shes only a raw pup and she will be trialing once shes settled into the Kennels with our trainer Tom Heilbron, she will be running under a Boom Themed name "Princess Boom" and her kennel name will be Bonnie.

Below is a short clip of her shortly after arriving at the kennels after coming over from Ireland, and pleased to report she is fit and well and ate up well, you can see from the vid below shes happy and settled already.

Next up was the well in form Mill Fallon aka TickTock Boom, but now name finally changed, but not to TickTock Boom as it was refused by the greyhound board so he is now under the name of "Booms Away" He kept up his great form by coming 2nd by the shortest of distances to a previous open race winner and regular A1 runner, He really is thriving at the moment.

Sonlink Boom kicked off the week for the syndicate, she trialed back for the 1st time having had her season, and it was a pleasing return winning her trial convincingly in 29.53s, not her fastest of times, but great to say 1st run since her season nevertheless, Deja Boom is still into her season, and Princess Boom is still settling in, Boom's Away was next up running on Saturday night, after some fine wins and runs in recent weeks in handicap company he returned to level racing in a A4, he flew to the first bend and kicked on clear of the pack, however was reeled in off the final bend, it sems the handicapper has him in his grips after hes enjoyed such a purple patch.

Booms Away kicked off the week, coming in as a reserve on Thursday night from trap5 received just 5m which seemed a tough mark and that it was, he wasn't disgraced neverthe less.

Sonlink Boom was in the following race her first run for a few weeks following coming into season, we didn't expect much from her the first time back but she keeps surprising us and she picked up another win from trap 5 up in grade for the first time in A3 company, it was some performance, vid below.

To wrap things up we had 2 runners in the last week of the month, Booms Away who seemed in the grips of the handicapper did his best in A4 company, after a few wins it seems they have him where they want him for now, hopefully he will get eased in grade soon so he will be more competitive again , next up was Saturday evening and Sonlink Boom ran a very creditable run from Trap 5 in A3 grade, given she took a bump and then denied a clear run she did well to beat a couple home.
