February 2019: Syndicate Update
Updated: Mar 1, 2019
This is our first blog, And a very warm welcome to you all to Boom Greyhound Syndicate.
Well let's get straight into things, its been fairly quiet in regards to runners, with Just Sonlink Boom (Aug17 bitch) running, She was a creditable 3rd on the 2nd February in A4 grade at Newcastle, being naturally very quick away she craves the early lead, she was just denied the lead on this occasion by the black jacket Brigadier Razler the eventual winner of the race, with our girl less than 3 lengths away in 3rd, that was by no means a bad run with the winner a ex A2 performer and more than double Sonlinks age.
Next up was her 2nd run of the month, again in A4 company, she absoloutley pinged the lids and flew out the traps with a smart 4.61 split over 480m again at Newcastle, she got the lead she craves, ran slightly wide on the last bend into the home straight and was denied by a short head caught on the line in a photo finish clocking 29.40s. Again this August 2017 blue bitch puppy ran into a decent one which was running A1 prior to recent come back (Doonanes Brigade) trained by James Fenwick
Her next run of the month on 14th February wasn't as bad as the 4th place finishing position suggests, She was just beaten to the first bend which ultimately cost her the race, however I thought her stamina had improved and the backend of the race was stronger than what she has been showing so clearly she is learning and improving her stamina all the time, she was beaten less than 3 lengths.
She then ran on the 21st February, when 2nd running a fine race to say she didn't trap and get her way in front, the main point for me being she stuck on all the way to the line seeing the race out until the end, shes a improving pup for sure.
Her final run of the month came on 28th February and a 4.68 split wasn't enough for her to get to the front as the white jacket was that little bit quicker, performing a career best split over 480m, after the 2nd bend the complexion of the race changed they got crowded and strong running on types charged home late on to pick the leading bunch up, she needs to build a nice lead from the start to win, and I am sure it won't be long before she claims her 3rd gold medal.
We still have 3x5% shares available in her and you can purchase shares directly through the website here https://www.boomsyndicate.com/available-shares
In other news the eagerly awaited debut of new recruit Deja Boom for the syndicate was delayed due to her getting into a confrontation with a kennel mate, shes been treated and is ready to trial at the track, she started off with a 290m sprint on 28th February, a decent time of 17.60s, which isn't her distance but trainer likes to sprint them before trialing over 480m at Newcastle when they have had a break from the track, (Video below she is in Trap4)
she has not long turned 2 years old and was a impressive winner at Belle Vue when last seen in A2 company, shes a black and white bitch by Laughil Blake, and has good natural early pace the dog she beat in that A2 Tullovin Buster has since franked that form by winning twice at A2 level and has been running in open races. Im certain Deja will give her owners plenty of enjoyment in her racing career, She will need to adapt to the track and find her feet first and will be given the time to do so, She is like Sonlink Boom trained by up and coming trainer Tom Heilbron of Link Kennels, All shares in this bitch are now sold.
If you have made it this far, thank you for reading and I will update with any further news in next months blog for March, which should be a action packed month with hopefully both syndicate dogs running (fingers crossed)
