January 2020: Syndicate Update
Updated: Jan 31
Hello all, and a Happy New Year to you, We enter a new year and lets hope we can have as much if not more success than what we had in our debut year of 2019.
December we had just 2 races for the entire month from all our dogs, we had terrible luck with injuries, and niggles, but pleased to say all are recovered and fit, at the exception of Deja Boom who needs a little more time before racing again.
WEEK 1 OF JANUARY'S BLOG
We kicked off the year and month with Sonlink Boom racing on Thursday evening from trap 5 in A3 grade, she flew out the traps kicked clear and fended them off to make it a winning start to the year from our 1st runner of the year, (vid below)
Moving swiftly on to Friday where Boom's Away was next up for the syndicate, sadly he was slow away and looked against it from the off, he saw the race put but a slight injury was picked up on shortly after the race, he will be on the sidelines now for a few weeks to rest up
before running again.
Promising puppy Princess Boom also ran in a trial this week, she was involved in some crowding so she will need another trial next week before she is back on the card.
WEEK 2 OF JANUARY'S BLOG
Just the 1 runner this week and that was the ultra consistent Sonlink Boom who made it back to back wins with another front running display, she is really starting to see out the race alot better of late (Vid Below)
In other news Deja Boom has had a op to remove a toe which had been causing her issues , she has little luck but hopefuly she will come back and show us more of what we know she is capable of.
WEEK 3 OF JANUARY'S BLOG
A quiet week with just the 1 runner, red hot Sonlink Boom was back out on the back of 2 wins in a row, she was given what looked a impossible task in a handicap race giving a start to 4 of her rivals, to her credit she came 3rd, but level breaks racing is what this girl is about, hopefuly the grader will return her to level starts next week, Princess Boom continued her road to recovery with a trial in which she won,not in the best of times but she will get better with race fitness, Booms Away is still on bed rest and the injury is not as bad as first feared, he will be back in a few weeks, Deja Boom is also resting up following her toe removal.
WEEK 4 OF JANUARY'S BLOG
With Sonlink Boom and Princess Boom being the only dogs fit and racing at the moment for the syndicate, Sonlink Boom was first up and tackled A2 grade on the back of a couple recent wins and unusually for her she was slow away from the traps but to her credit she never gave up and strongly ran on to the line, she came a creditable 3rd on Thursday evening, then to cap off the month was the return of promising pup Princess Boom on Saturday evening from trap 5, She flew out the traps and got herself into a nice early lead only to be caught close to the line , a good return and a solid close 2nd but race fitness cost her this time out.
WEEK 5 OF JANUARY'S BLOG
To wrap things up for the month we had some bad news that Booms Away injury means he will be best to retire frm racing, it wasn't as bad as first feared but upon vet inspection it was suggested he is retired, with the dogs best interest at heart that is what we will do, sad news I appreciate but as we know already this can happen to anyone at anytime.
Onto some more positive news where Sonlink Boom ran on Friday night in a tough looking A2 race, she looked up against it pre-race however she surprised showing her trademark early pace tracking the odds on dog in the race and following all the way to the line, she was back in 2nd but stayed the trip out strong closing all the way to the line (Vid Below)
To cap the month off, promising puppy Princess Boom tackled A4 grade and despite fluffling her lines from the boxes she showed electric early pace to quickly get in a handy position to take the race up and seeing the race out nicely (Vid Below)
