November 2019: Syndicate Update

Updated: Dec 31, 2019

Hi guys and welcome to November's edition of the Syndicate blog, Lets get into it!

WEEK 1 OF NOVEMBER'S BLOG

The new month kicks off pretty well on Saturday Evening, With Booms Away running a decent 3rd despite being slow away and finding trouble in A3 grade, next up was impressive puppy Princess Boom who made it 3 wins in 4 career starts climbing up from A6 to A4 in the process, she had no right to win her race after running the 1st bend really wide, only to almost instantly get back into it and take off to assert on the back straight, she is certainly a nice type and who knows how far she can go, (Vid Below in Trap 3)

On to Wednesday where we had 2 runners, 1st up was Sonlink Boom downgraded to A4 grade and took advantage of that winning nicely from Trap 5, she flew to the 1st bend and stayed on strongly to the line, It was a much improved run following her season and hopefuly she can kick on again (Vid Below)

Next up was Deja Boom in handicap action from Trap 3, She did everything right from the boxes but short on racing room when closing in on the 2 front runners, that halted her progress and gaveaway any hope.

The inform Booms Away looks to have found his grade and to his credit ran a fair race in a trappy looking A3, although being the last to cross the line he wasn't beaten far.

Finally to wrap up the week Princess Boom ran Saturday evening again in A4 on the back of winning 3 from 4 career starts. Makes it 4 wins from 5 career starts with a emphatic victory in A4 grade (Vid Below) This Pup has a bright future ahead.

WEEK 2 OF NOVEMBER'S BLOG

Racing kicked off on Wednesday for week 2 of the month, with Booms Away up first contesting in A3 grade, he looks outgraded at the moment in A3 but to his credit he pulled out a career best sectional time and flew from the traps to lead, a decent A3 field only to be sucked in the later stages of the race.

Young Pup Princess Boom also came 4th also in A3 grade, however that does not tell the full story , she walked out the boxes, found all sorts of traffic trouble on several ocassions, only to be back in contention and beaten a little over 2 lengths, she couldn't make it 5 wins from 6 but there was a lot to like about her performance and attitude.

Onto Saturday where Sonlink Boom contested in A3 grade given a upgrade due to last weeks success, and makes it back to back wins readily winning thats 10 wins from her now in 39 starts, that is some record, (Vid Below)

Next up was the debut of new recruit Moaning Skye for the syndicate he looked harshly handicapped on his 1st run at the track and 1st time in handicap boxes it was very sad news that on his debut he broke his hock and ended his racing career, this is the sad side of the sport and the 1st time we have experienced this, the main thing is that he will survive given the best care and rehomed.

WEEK 3 OF NOVEMBER'S BLOG

Following on from the sad news at the end of week 2 November's blog regarding Moaning Skye breaking his hock on just his first start for us, we are pleased to report he is as well as can be, he is eating up, and has a cast on his leg, he will now rest up for the next 6-8 weeks, then after christmas he will be joining his forever home with syndicate member Jonathon and family where i know he will be spoilt, he even has a personal couch ready near the fire and a greyhound friend awaiting him, pic below of Skye in his cast.

On to the racing and Sonlink Boom kicks off week 3 of November's racing, she had won her previous 2 races heading in to this A3 contest from trap 5, She came a gallant 2nd and challenged again towards the line it was a great run and she is in good order.

On to Saturday night where both Princess Boom and Booms Away both ran in A3 grade, Booms Away flew out the traps but reeled in by the pack, he needs a ease in grade you feel til he gets his nose back in front. Princess Boom came 3rd , she was untidy out of the traps and that made life difficult from the off.
