September 2019: Syndicate Update

Updated: Sep 30, 2019

Hi guys and welcome to September's edition of the Syndicate blog, Lets get into it!

We start the month with lastest puppy recruit "Princess Boom" on the gallops with our Trainer Tom Heilbron, video below (1st Video) and Deja Boom (2nd Video) also on the gallops after a seasonal rest, shes not had much luck of late, hopefully she will start firing when her race fitness is up, shes been stop start and needs some luck.

There is no week 2 of the monthly blog with the kennel sadly having a bout of fatal influenza, thoughts are with those that were effected, but onwards and upwards for our trainer at his kennels, no Boom Syndicate dogs were involed.

Booms Away and Sonlink Boom ran on Thursday and both trapped out well but found trouble at the 3rd bends, both will need to pick up their fitness after sitting out for around 10 days.

Deja Boom trialed well and came 2nd, with Princess Boom winning her trial at the first look at the track in a sprint in 17.63 winning by 4 1/2 lengths, looking forward to the final week of the month where most of our syndicate will be present for owners night @ Newcastle Greyhound Stadium.

Booms Away kicked off the final week of the month on Thursday night, he fluffed the start but to his credit ran a cracker to finish 3rd, he showed some decent backstraight pace, with a better trap he would of been close to winning thats for sure.

Princess Boom continued her introduction to racing with a trial over 480m, she was forced to check in the early part of the trial, however she is well within qualifying time and should build on that next week in the next trial.

Finally we saw the return of Deja Boom on owners night in a handicap, she had a decent start on most of the field but could not take advantage first time in the handicap traps, she is in need of a good run of races to get her fitness up, Sonlink Boom flew out the traps but again appeared to be halted at the 3rd bend again, same as last week, we was expecting a flat period for her following coming into season, I am sure she will add to her great tally of 8 wins from 34 races soon.

In other news we added to our string with a 3 year old dog named Moaning Skye who has been running open class at Drumbo Park, Ireland he was bumped but still came 3rd in his last race for his old owners on Sunday afternoon, Skye is lightly raced for his age with less than 30 career starts, he is scheduled to join our trainer Tom Heilbron on Thursday, where he will join his Boom brother and sisters.

May I just say it was great to meet up with members of the syndicate on Saturday night, it was a great evening had by all, and those that sadly couldn't make it, we are looking to have another meet around April time.
